How to use Delete and Reorder PDF Pages
- 1Drag and drop one PDF or pick it with [Choose files]. Page thumbnails appear
- 2Press [Delete] on pages you don't need, and drag thumbnails or use [Move earlier] and [Move later] to change the order. Then press [Start]
- 3Save the organized PDF with [Download]
The big number on the result card is the number of pages left. The result keeps the original name with -organized added, as in contract-organized.pdf. While you edit, a line under the thumbnails shows how many pages remain and how many are deleted, like “Remaining: 8 · Deleted: 2”.
You can add one PDF at a time. We recommend up to 200 MB on desktop and 50 MB on mobile. Going over the recommendation shows a warning, but you can still continue. Files over 500 MB are not processed.
- Example 1 · Delete two pages
ten-10p.pdf (10 pages, 4 KB) · [Delete] on pages 3 and 5
Measured in Chrome on desktop · test PDF with one large label per page
→ ten-10p-organized.pdf, 8 pages · 2 KB · page order 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
- Example 2 · Move the last page to the front
ten-10p.pdf (10 pages) · [Move earlier] on page 10, pressed 9 times with the keyboard
Measured in Chrome on desktop · test PDF with one large label per page
→ ten-10p-organized.pdf, 10 pages · page order 10, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
- Example 3 · Trying to delete every page
ten-10p.pdf (10 pages) · [Delete] on all 10 pages
Measured in Chrome on desktop · test PDF with one large label per page
→ “Keep at least 1 page” · [Start] can't be pressed
Example figures vary by file and device.
Delete and Reorder PDF Pages options explained
- Reorder
- Drag a page thumbnail to where you want it, or use the [Move earlier] and [Move later] buttons on each page to move it one place at a time. Those buttons work from the keyboard too, and focus follows the page you moved. Use this when scanned pages came out of order or you want the cover page first.
- Delete
- Leaves the page out of the result. A deleted page is dimmed and marked “Deleted”, and pressing [Delete] again restores it. Use it for blank pages or pages that didn't scan well. If you delete every page, “Keep at least 1 page” appears and [Start] can't be pressed.
- Reset
- Undoes all deletions and order changes and goes back to the original document. While nothing has changed, “Delete pages or change their order” is shown and [Start] can't be pressed.
- What carries over
- This isn't a setting you can turn on or off; it always works the same way. The remaining pages are copied as they are into a new PDF in the new order, so page content, rotation and annotations are kept. Bookmarks (the outline) and document-wide form structure may not be kept, and the result's document properties (title, author and so on) are left empty.
Delete and Reorder PDF Pages: frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs sent to a server?
No. Organizing pages happens inside this browser and your files are never sent off your device. To check it yourself, follow the steps on the How it works page.
Can I get back a page I deleted by mistake?
Yes. Before you press [Start], press that page's [Delete] again or press [Reset]. Your original PDF also stays as it was after processing, so you can add it again and start over.
My bookmarks disappeared after organizing.
The remaining pages are copied into a new PDF, so bookmarks (the outline) and document-wide form structure may not be kept. Document properties such as title and author are left empty too. If a document relies on bookmarks, keep the original as well.
Does organizing reduce quality?
No. Pages aren't turned into images; the text and images inside the PDF are copied as they are, so quality doesn't change. Page rotation and annotations are kept too.
Can I insert pages from another PDF?
This tool deletes and reorders pages within one PDF. To add pages from another file, combine the files with Merge PDF first, then put the pages in order here.
Can I organize password-protected PDFs?
No. Adding a password-protected PDF shows “Password-protected PDFs can't be processed”, and the options area points you to Unlock PDF. Even a PDF that doesn't ask for a password when you open it may show the same message if it has a password restricting printing or editing.

How it works · Engine · Notes
- Processed in: this browser (your device)
- Engine: pdf-lib (MIT) · PDF.js (page thumbnails) (Apache-2.0)
- Organizing runs inside this browser with pdf-lib, and files are not sent to a server.
- The remaining pages are copied into a new PDF in the new order. Page content, rotation and annotations are kept; bookmarks (the outline) and document-wide form structure may not be kept.
- The result's document properties (title, author and so on) are left empty.
- Page thumbnails are drawn with PDF.js only for the pages visible on screen, for display only, and don't affect the result file.
